Self Care (with a Magical Twist!)

This year has been….I mean, wow. Right? I don’t even know if I have any words for it at this point!

I think during all of this stress people have started to realize how important self-care is for your physical & mental health. I’ve always been big on it and I’m not ashamed to take time for myself, sometimes daily, if I need it!

There are soooo many ways to care for yourself, but of course I like to add a magical twist into everything I do! So here are a couple low-effort “witchy” self-care tips!

Spell Baths

Definitely my favorite way to take a bath, by adding some magic of course! So first, add a little Moon Water to your tub (and if you don’t know what that is or how to make it, I got you at a later time! Also follow my IG for all that awesome stuff). The Moon Water will help recharge your energy and put you in a more relaxed place.
I also like to take baths with loose herbs and/or Himalayan rock salt! You can choose any herb (like lavender for peace, etc) that you want to use. Just do some research before you put it all over your naked body though, please LOL.

And of course…add some crystals to this! You can put any of your favorite crystals on the edge of your tub (but be careful because not all crystals mix well with water.) I like to use my pink opal for cleansing the aura, rose quartz for self-love, & amethyst for my third eye. This also helps when I meditate in the tub because I like to hold a crystal when I do that!

Whatever magical tools you add to your bath is up to you; just remember that it’s all about intention.

Kitchen Witchin’

We all love food, right? Why not add some magic to that yummy stuff! There are all kinds of seasonings that can be used for different things. For example, thyme has healing properties; garlic can be used for protection; oregano strengthens the bond between the people sharing the meal.
You can even add a magic boost to your morning coffee or tea! Stir your chosen drink 3 times clockwise while thinking of a little chant like “positivity, love, energy” or whatever you need that day. Drink it down while focusing on those things and boom, easy magic!

Cleanse Your Space

Am I telling you to clean out that old junk drawer in your kitchen? Maybe. But really, getting rid of some clutter can help our mental health so much. I cleaned out a kitchen cabinet the other day and couldn’t stop looking at it afterward. I was so proud!

But of course, there are other ways of cleansing your space — and by that I mean energy cleansing. I love to sage my home at least once a week to get rid of any negative or lingering energies. I normally feel best when I clean the house first and then sage, but that’s just my personal preference! I have a blog on how to use sage as well so check that out!

Fresh Air

Mother Nature just called, and she asked you to put down your phone! Nature is the best way to truly connect with the Earth, Universe, our Guides, etc. I love to pray and mediate outdoors whenever I can because I feel so much more connected.
If you’ve been feeling stressed, anxious or any of the feels, I really encourage you to put your phone down and step outside. (I know it’s a little chilly right now but witch up!). Get your feet in the dirt, breathe in the fresh air; ask the universe to guide you and be with you.

There are also plenty of 5-minute guided meditations on YouTube that can really help you! Also try to focus on aligning your chakras, and there’s videos on that too. But the point is, whatever healing you need, it is right outside your window!

I hope you guys enjoyed this blog and are inspired to do some self-care! Even if you only have 5 minutes to yourself, make the most of it! Keep a crystal in your pocket, add some kitchen witchin’ to your lunch at work, manifest your positive day. Whatever you do, remember how magical you are and that you deserve some love!
